Wedding Speeches Rules

Everyone has been to many weddings and the majority of wedding speeches are similar and frankly not very memorable. The ones that are memorable are usually the ones that are failing greatly in wedding speech etiquette.

Wedding Speeches Rules ..In theory, there are no wedding speech rules but in reality wedding speech etiquette is very important. People tend to remember wedding speeches for all the wrong reasons!

Here are some simple rules for wedding speech etiquette:

Format: the rules for the format of the speeches is essentially up to you. In general, the speech format is the Groomsman or MC does the introduction, Father of the Bride Speech is first, then Groom, the Groomsman and in more recent times the Maid of Honor follows and then of course the Bride Speech.

Profanity: This is an absolute breach of wedding manners! It may be tempting to use some profanity to emphasis an account or a situation. Don't go there! Your audience will be very diverse and indeed some of them don't even know you!

Intoxication: For sure, you will be slightly nervous, nothing unnatural. It will be tempting to sip on some wine or champagne to help you through the evening as you await your speech. Many people go overboard on the alcohol without even realizing it. You don't want to be remembered as the one who slurred out the speech.
